Wat Tham Sua

Family picture leaving Railay.  We'll say Ashley took the picture...

Arrival in Ao Nang, Sarah and Lauren each found a coconut.

We rode back to our car in a local "taxi."  In fact a scooter with a wraparound sidecar large enough to hold all five of us.  Well worth the 100 baht.

We went on to Wat Tham Sua, a Buddhist temple / shrine.

The signature attraction is a golden Buddha shrine atop a karsk formation.   It is reached by staircase.

A very steep staircase.  Lauren and I struck out for the top.  It was hot and hazy.  Sarah opted to stay with Mom and Ashley at the bottom.

A very steep staircase with many monkeys.

Many, many monkeys.  Aggressive monkeys.  Too many, in fact.  We turned back after about 800 stairs because the monkeys were in the path.  I had one jump onto my back, and we lost a can of Sprite after a monkey punctured it with its teeth.  Lauren did not find this amusing.  She was brave.

While waiting at the bottom, Sarah and Ashley were each requested for more pictures.
