Farewell Maui

Saturday was our last day on Maui.  Our flight was at 9:30pm, so we were able to enjoy a full day.  We even covered new ground.

Final view from our balcony

Honolua Bay - we'll have to snorkel here next time.  It was perfectly calm yet winds were 30+ knots everywhere else

Blow hole on the northwest shore

Other views from the Kahekili "Highway" - I put that in quotes because in many places it was one car-width wide with no pull-outs.  We witnessed a few Zax moments (ref: Dr. Seuss) and did not know the protocol of who was supposed to back up.  Definitely a more primitive road than the road to Hana.

Since we still had time in the afternoon we found a nice playground in Wailuku

We made our flight without incident and arrived in San Francisco at 4:30am local for a 2-hour layover.  The terminal had a very cool kids science exhibit area.

We returned home and turned on the heat - it was not as warm as Hawaii...
