Shanghai

The last stop of the vacation was in Shanghai, China for a 24 hour layover.  We took the MagLev train from the airport, stayed in a hotel, and walked to the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum before heading back to the airport.

The train reached 300km/hr (186mph).  This is the slow speed and the trip takes about 8 minutes.  Apparently the train is capable of 420km/hr, but that takes a lot of energy.

The Science and Technology Museum was massive.  We were there at opening on a Tuesday and it was very quiet.

An interactive exhibit to squash garden invaders

This exhibit mixed different colors of light to show how to make different colors and white.  The different color shadows show the unmixed light.

One of the favorites was a mirror maze.  The mirrors were very clean and it was confusing.  The noodles were to protect the mirrors and your nose...
